Shona was born in San Jose, California and wanted to be an artist at four years old, after watching a Jim Henson instructional video on how to be a cartoonist.
 
In 2015 they moved to Portland, Oregon to make tattooing a career. Shona's preferred tattoo style can be best described as surrealist blackwork, with a penchant for the macabre. Shona loves entomology, music production, and furthering an artistic practice through mixed media collage, printmaking and textiles.
 
Shona has earned both a BFA in Printmaking from Arizona State University and an MFA in Print Media from Pacific Northwest College of Art.
